DAVID ENGELHARD
SAXOPHONIST
A New York saxophonist with southern roots, David Engelhard grew up in Atlanta, GA and got his start playing with local jazz legends Kevin Bales, Kinah Boto, Kebbi Williams, before moving to NYC. He studied with many teachers in Atlanta including Sam Skelton, Mace Hibbard, Kevin Bales, and David Sanchez in Atlanta, and with Antonio Hart, David Berkman, and Michael Mossman at Queens College in NYC, where earned a Masters in Jazz Performance. During his time in NYC he's taken to studying with many players including David Binney, Donny McClaslin, and Aaron Goldberg.One of David's most influential periods was performing and touring with the GRAMMY-Award winning Zac Brown Band. David composed horn lines and performed saxophone on a number of songs included in the "Live at the Fabulous Fox Theater" DVD, released on Atlantic Records that went on to be a Certified Gold record.
